The feedstocks for heavy oil catalytic cracking include atmospheric residue, vacuum residue, and the deasphalted oil derived from vacuum residue. The process units involved comprise a catalytic fractionation column, a light diesel stripping column, an absorption column, a desorption column, a reabsorption column, and a stabilization column, with plate-type columns being the predominant configuration. The principal internal components include tray assemblies (consisting of floating valves, tray decks, downcomers, receiving trays, liquid seal trays, and associated support beams), oil collection tanks, gas–liquid feed distributors and distribution pipes, as well as fasteners such as bolts, nuts, clamps, and washers.
