The ethylene glycol unit includes a diester column, a methanol recovery column, a methanol absorption recovery column, a carbonate ester concentration column, a carbonate ester column, an MN absorption column, a tail-gas absorption column, a light-component recovery column, a second alcohol-removal column, an ethanol-removal column, a waste-gas absorption column, a light-component removal column, an ethanol-light-component removal column, an ethanol purification column, an EO purification column, a drying column, an MEG separation column, a single-effect ethylene glycol evaporator, a double-effect ethylene glycol evaporator, a triple-effect ethylene glycol evaporator, a quadruple-effect ethylene glycol evaporator, and an acetaldehyde tail-gas stripping column. The principal internal components include metal packings, liquid distributors, liquid collectors, packing pressure grids, packing grid supports, tray assemblies (floating valves, tray decks, downcomers, receiving trays, liquid seals, and their corresponding support beams), oil collection tanks, gas–liquid feed distributors and distribution pipes, as well as fasteners such as bolts, nuts, clamps, and washers.
