Joint Exhibition of UOP (USA) and Changsha Boneng on Ethylene Projects and Tray Technology for PX and Aromatics Units

　　On May 11, 2012, UOP and Changsha Boneng jointly hosted a demonstration event for UOP’s MD/ECMD tray technology, which was grandly held at the Sheraton Changsha International Hotel and the Boneng plant. More than 20 organizations were invited to attend, including major petrochemical companies such as Sinopec, PetroChina, Sinochem Group, and Shenhua Group, with over 30 leaders and guests in attendance. Yang Depin, President of the Changsha County Enterprise Association, Yang Daibin, General Manager of Boneng, and Kevin Brandner, UOP Production Line Manager, each delivered opening remarks at the event, and Zhang Dongping, Deputy General Manager of PetroChina Sichuan Petrochemical Company, also addressed the gathering. The event featured a detailed presentation on UOP’s MD/ECMD tray technology, followed by in-depth exchanges and interactive discussions with the attending leaders and guests, as well as a site visit to Boneng’s workshop, where participants observed the assembly of an ECMD tray module with a diameter of 9.7 meters and its associated distribution piping. The event was a resounding success and has created new opportunities for the development of technologies related to the construction and retrofitting of domestic ethylene projects, PX plants, and aromatics facilities.
